Amanda Lo

Amanda Lo is a multi-genre acoustic and electric violinist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. In 2011 she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance at New York Univerisity, where she studied with Stephanie Chase. She has appeared as a soloist with the Chelsea Symphony, Metro Chamber Ensemble, NYU Symphony Orchestra, Sympho, and the Westerchester Philharmonic.

In 2013, she performed as a guest artist in Sleep No More/Punchdrunk Theater Company. Amanda recorded Deon Price’s “Violin Concert for Oneness” with Metro Chamber Orchestra which was released in 20124 by Cambrai Records/NAXOS. She has collaborated and appeared on stage with artists as diverse as Andrew Bird, Bill Whelan, Björk, Efterklang, Foldfrapp, Harry Connick Jr., Judith Hill, Micheál ó Súilleabháin, Mono, Natalia Lafourcade, Paul Simon, Ra Ra Riot, and Sufjan Stevens.

Amanda is currently the violinist for the string quartet seven)suns, The Ludlow Thieves and Concertmaster of The Manhattan Camerata. In addition to her work as a performer, she also serves as Director of Special Programs and Outreach/Contractor for Sympho Inc., a New York-based contemporary and classical music nonprofit.
